The Beautiful World of Chemistry
August 18, 2011I cannot imagine my life without doing chemistry, without being involved in the world of molecules and their chemical transformation. Chemistry is everywhere and every step I take towards understanding it fascinates me. I feel privileged because I have a chance to explore and understand the magic of chemistry. As I take step after step towards my career goal I feel that it brings me closer to becoming a good, confident scientist.
My passion for chemistry started since I was a little girl when my father tried to answer my incessant questions of “What?” and “Why?”. His explanations always began with “This is science my dear!”. I became convinced that science was interesting and fascinating. When I grew up and started to study sciences, my father offered me books that would satisfy my curiosity, a curiosity which grew at the same pace with my knowledge.
What I have learned through my research programs is that science is very interesting but at the same time it is a very demanding activity. It made me understand that the greatest success may be achieved when one reaches a balance between personal and collaboration efforts, between personal and family life, between responsibility as a scientist and a citizen.
I am fortunate that I have chosen this path, which I am passionate and excited and what I do may one day improve the life of those surrounding me makes my work days more interesting and complete.
